This unique opportunity offers collaboration with two board-certified, fellowship-trained Foot and Ankle surgeons with extensive experience in producing impactful research. The chosen candidate will gain exposure to the clinical, operative, and academic aspects of medicine through both prospective and retrospective research studies. Research focus areas encompass total ankle arthroplasty, diabetic foot, gait and biomechanics, utilization of large publicly available databases, surgical outcomes assessment, and artificial intelligence (AI). The ideal applicant should possess a robust academic background, coupled with creativity, self-motivation, reliability, and a strong desire for learning. A successful applicant will be highly motivated with prior experience in conceptualizing and executing clinical or basic science research. Proficiency in statistical analysis is highly advantageous for this role.
The Jackie and Randy Baker Research Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery is being offered by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. This program is designed to provide a one to two-year mentored research experience in orthopaedic clinical science (Hip Preservation and Total Joint Replacement).

Steps2Walk currently has three interns who work in a volunteer capacity. One of the interns is multilingual and assists with programming and correspondence globally and with our Spanish speaking surgeon volunteers. All the interns have administrative duties, and we encourage participation in our conference calls and where possible in educational opportunities to maximize exposure to orthopedic surgery.
