The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital is offering two, one-year-long clinical research awards for medical school students interested in pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery. We aim to mentor medical students as they progress to an orthopedic surgery residency program and beyond.

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) for the Brigham Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Service will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and execution of the various tasks necessary for coordination of all clinical research studies being conducted by the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle service. The CRC for the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Service will be responsible for IRB protocol development, IRB approval maintenance, candidate screening, clinical evaluation, coordination of patient follow-up, data collection, and database maintenance (all record keeping) for all research projects managed by this group.

Luminis Health Orthopedics in Annapolis, MD is recruiting a Research Fellow for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Orthopedic Research Fellowship is a one to two year funded professional development opportunity for rising 4th year medical students and/or MD or DO graduates with an interest in orthopedic surgery. Fellows will design, implement, analyze, present, and publish research projects under the guidance of the director of research and attending surgeons. This position will support research activities across the total joint, spine, upper extremity, foot and ankle, and sports medicine subspecialties. Fellows will have the opportunity to present their work at various national meetings and to serve as first-author on publications, as appropriate. Additional opportunities for shadowing in the clinic and OR, and participation in didactic sessions/cadaver labs will be provided. The targeted start date for this position is June or July, 2024.
