No interviews!

I'm sorry if I was too harsh yeasterday. It wasn't long ago that I went through this process and I remember how agonizing it is up until Black Monday.

With that said, one shouldn't tell ANYONE, regardless of their stats, that they will match. I know everyone wants to encourage each other, but I don't see what good that does. You don't have to look too hard to find stories of stellar applicants who didn't match. I personlly know firsthand people exactly like this. When you go on interviews (and yes, it is early, you in all liklihood WILL get interviews) attendings, residents, etc will suck up to you and throw all this BS about how a great applicatn you are and how you're such a lock to match. You just have to brush it off and keep going, because until that day in March when the results are unveiled even they don't know what they're talking about.

No kidding, you'll have so much smoke blown up your ass, you'll feel like a pig at a tailgate. But in the end it don't mean crap.

it's from the nrmp/eras statistics. The stats are *very* real.

Oh, and I was one of the applicants with 260, many honors, hit all of the stats, and did not match.

I ranked 17 places.

The statistic makes me cry (literally.)

Everyone says "you fell through the cracks"... Who knows.

I have 5 interviews so far this year.. we'll see.

It's too early to tell. You guys are all freaking out because most other specialties have given out there interviews.

REMEMBER. it's Nov 2nd that mspe comes out.. it's NOV 11th!.. 8 days later.. including 2 days which were weekend.

Most places haven't even distributed the application packets out..
