Books for Med4? was created by rugger
Anyone have any suggestions for good books for 4th year med students rotating through ortho? I was told Netter's Concise Ortho and Koval's Handbook of Fractures are good. Anyone used these books and wish t0 comment on them or others? Thanks.

Replied by on topic I got Netter's Ortho Atlas
I got Netter's Ortho Atlas and Handbook of Fractures. Both were awesome and very helpful. ALmost all the PGY-2s I worked with had Handbook of Fractures in their white coats.

I'm starting 4th year next month. I already have Netter's Ortho from my 3rd year rotation. I recently bought Koval's and Hoppenfeld's.

After reading some of each I realized I may need something that covers more clinic/physical exam stuff also.

To have something that covers more basic topics, would you guys read blueprints or secrets? And, yes, I know I'll be drowning in texts book.

Replied by on topic you may consider the purple
you may consider the purple lange orthopaedics book - i thought it provided a good overview of most topics.

people also recommend the green netter (not the anatomy one). i much prefer the lange, but some may disagree.

jaaos is also your friend when it comes to specific topics since the articles tend to cover relevant commonly seen topics at a junior resident level.
