Top 10 academic programs?

5. Harvard
6. Rush
7. Iowa
8. UCSF
9. NYU
10. Duke

Above would be my top 10, more or less agree with prior posts. I think these programs are the top 10 in the country right now. Doximity rankings, in my opinion, tend to lag behind in their reputation about a decade or so. Programs can turn around quickly in a few years with new leadership. You would great training to build an academic career at these programs, ultimately it boils down to program fit (with residents and attendings) and location.

i am not going to name names but there are some programs on these lists that put out a VERY inconsistent product in terms of surgical acumen.

remember that the goal of residency is to become the best orthopaedic SURGEON you can be in a 5 year period. It is a lot to learn. Academic opportunities and connections are important but don't put the cart before the horse.
