I really appreciate them sending their rejection with subject line "Interview at UCLA".

That didn't briefly get my hopes up or anything

For a lot of the programs I have applied to, I have heard nothing either way. I know they have sent out invitations, but it appears as if they still haven't sent rejections.

For example, neither Pitt nor Emory actually sent anything this year officially notifying us we're out of the running, but since their interview dates have passed, it's probably safe to assume we're finished. based on last year's threads, i know they have notified applicants in the past that they had been rejected.

I'm thinking about sending emails to the following programs to see if they are still considering folks but figured I would ask here first. Maybe some of you all have already talked to them:

maryland
northwestern
rush
washu

also NYU and union memorial (but they just sent out invites so i'm willing to wait for a little while longer).

what is up with this trend of not bothering to let you know that you're rejected?
