Interview Offers Thread 2009-2010

For some time a few people posted their invitations for interviews. That began to scare some of us with not too great board scores (you can see my profile somewhere here with step 2 taken early and in the upper 250s). But then it has stopped.
Is it because these first few people were big outliers or where they very outstanding students? Or was this just a fluke and it was just these six or so programs offering interviews?
By the way, I still do not have any interviews offered except for where I did an away which is given to all rotators. Give your two cents.

You’ll learn very quickly that getting interviews is very random. Don’t sweat it. Most programs don’t send out invitations until after Nov 1. Check out last year’s interview offers thread.

Interviews will start coming in November and December, a few did come in October last year, but not many.

I know its a stressful time since most of your buddies applying to medicine have a ton of interviews.

As someone told me last year when I was in your shoes, the interviews will come, just wait....

On the nrmp website they have a pdf file that shows that 80% of ortho programs have 0% of their interview spots filled prior to the release of deans letters.

Stay positive, you all will match...well everyone except the 18% of us that won't.

Also remember, as more programs begin giving interview offers, there will be conflicts, and spots may open up at programs that currently have filled their spots as people cancel their interviews.
