Replied by on topic I think having a low
I think having a low Step 1 score will probably cut your interviews in half, and having low clinical grades / non-AOA will cut your interviews in half. For instance, if you have great extracurriculars, LOR, research, AOA and 235, you can get 40 interiews (out of applying to say, 60 places in all "tiers" of competitiveness). If you have low clinical grades, you might get 20 interviews. If you have low step 1, you might get 10 interviews. If you have no interesting extracurriculars, you might get knocked down to less than a handful. A high step 2 might lessen the blow of a low step 1 in the case of some schools. Regionality and unknown "connections" may help you get interviews in several cases.

This is probably only a general guideline in my opinion, but judging by my experience and looking at other posts, it seems to be roughly accurate. Several PD's have commented on my application and what they think helped or hurt me. We'll see what happens in March.

19 offers /24 rejections /24 no word (probably 10 of which are rejections)

Replied by on topic No from Iowa (I actually
No from Iowa (I actually didn't think I applied there but evidently I forgot to deselect it)
Interviews full as of now but we'll let you know from Baylor (barring a tragic epidemic amongst applicants, I won't hold my breath)

Don't try to hard to make sense out of the process. There will always be some great number applicants who get surprising rejections and there will always be some low number applicants who get surprising interviews (and probably some surprising matches). If you think about it too long you will go nuts. Just make the best application you can and be ready to roll with the punches.
