The Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute (AORI) is seeking 2 ambitious medical students interested in pursuing a year-long clinical research fellowship. This unique position will allow the research fellow to gain valuable exposure to hip and knee replacements with attendings, fellows, and faculty at AORI. The research fellow will have opportunities to assist attendings with research projects, publications, and presentations at major orthopaedic conferences. Since one of the goals of the fellowship program is to help applicants prepare for an orthopaedic residency, priority will be given to students who are between their 3rd and 4th years of medical school.

Aoki invites 3rd and 4th year medical students interested in orthopaedic surgery to apply for a one-year sports medicine research fellowship. At this time, we are only considering students from United States accredited MD programs. This is a full-time, paid position with the University of Utah. Duties include assisting in study design, gathering and analyzing data, IRB preparation and submission, industry-sponsored prospective study execution, submitting and presenting current work at regional, national and international conferences, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Past fellows have published in multiple journals and presented at multiple annual national orthopaedic meetings.
