This fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity to strengthen your orthopaedic residency application, gain exposure to academic orthopaedics, and develop research skills essential for a future academic career. Fellows will participate in all aspects of the research process, including project development, literature review, study design, IRB submission, data collection and analysis, manuscript writing, and preparation of scientific presentations.

Past fellows have been highly productive and routinely receive support to present at national and international meetings. Fellows will also spend significant time in outpatient clinic and operating room settings and will participate in weekly didactics while working closely with residents and clinical fellows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manuscripts, textbook chapters, posters, presentations, and educational videos

  • Participate in research meetings, seminars, journal clubs, symposia, and professional society conferences

  • Mentor student researchers and assist with team coordination

  • Provide research-related education to study participants

  • Develop research questions and study designs

  • Draft research protocols, IRB submissions, and grant proposals

  • Collect, organize, and analyze clinical data
