When: Beginning June 14th, 2022
Salary: A monthly stipend is provided.

Dr. Stephen K. Aoki invites 3rd and 4th year medical students interested in orthopaedic surgery to apply for a one-year sports medicine research fellowship. At this time, we are only considering students from United States accredited MD programs. This is a full-time, paid position with the University of Utah. This fellowship is focused on pediatric and adult hip and knee research. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with an anticipated decision in February/March 2022. Early applications are encouraged.
Provide administrative support as the associate residency program coordinator. Manage the day-to-functions of the orthopedic medical student clerkship program. Collaborates with the clerkship director and sites to oversee education and assessments of over 50 medical students during a years’ time. Manage administration of the program including registration, schedule, orientation education sessions, scholarships and examinations. Assist with other assignments as it relates to orthopedic residency education. Dependent on candidate performance and interest, this position has the potential to be restructured to include fellowship coordination duties. Potential growth to include fellowship coordination.
This position assists in the study coordination and data management of clinical research studies and projects for faculty in the Orthopedic Surgery Department at the University of Minnesota. Our department focuses on providing state-of-the-art technologies and advanced treatment for the entire spectrum of orthopedic conditions, ranging from ankle sprains and minor bone fractures, sport medicine, cartilage and joint preservation, to the most complex spine, hip knee, and hand or bone cancer surgeries. Below is a breakdown of this position’s major responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as needed.
