Objectives
Following this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Define and recognize the normal MRI anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, as well as cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine
- Recognize the most commonly seen pathologic findings in the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, as well as the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine
- Distinguish the MRI appearance of benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors
- Differentiate determinate from indeterminate soft tissue tumors
- Discuss and avoid the common pitfalls in MR imaging of the musculoskeletal system
- Utilize a systematic approach to evaluate MR imaging studies of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, wrist and hand, as well as the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
