Step 2 needed to match?

Does anyone know if you have to have Step 2 score for programs to rank you. I was not planning on taking mine until February so the score would probably not be back until after match day. I heard that some other fields require a passing Step 2 score to be available before they will put rank you. Is this true of ortho at all or just something other fields do.

I had mine, but several friends did not. It didn't seem to effect their ability to get interviews. The answer to that question would be on a program-to-program basis.

Most programs do not make Step 2 a requirement, but if it came down to you and another person who look the same on paper and are liked equally during the interview, would you choose the person who has already taken and passed Step 2 or the one that hasn't?
