Has anyone used this book for preparation for the ABOS part 1 exam? What was your opinion of the book? What else did you find helpful to study for the exam?

I used it for my recert exam and did fine. I think the recert is probably easier than the first round of ABOS. When I took the ABOS originally, I read the most recent OKU and Miller's Review and did fine.

As a current PGY-2 with the first edition of the AAOS Com Ortho Review. Do you see any benefits of purchasing this book for general studying purposes? Thank you.

I would consider reading it as a PG1 to build a base of general orthopedic knowledge, but beyond that you should be reading more focused texts/journals for your rotations. However, if your program stresses the OITE, it may be useful to plow through it right before the test every year.

Thanks for the advice. Our program stresses the OITE. Just wanted to know whether thought having the 2nd edition vs the 1st would benefit come time for the exam.
