DO to allopathic ortho was created by Jonass00
I can't seem to find statistics for DO students matching into allopathic ortho residency. My assumption is that the numbers are probably low. Is it common for DO to match into allopathic ortho (assuming competitive applicant) ? How does the "unification" AOA ACGME play into all of this?

Probably <10 year match into "MD" ortho because the DO match happens first. With the merger, all "DO" programs will be "MD" programs, because they will be both accredited by the ACGME.
What this means in the future, is more then likely one match for all students and one application process. Some DO programs will cease to exist or merge together, while others obtain accreditation and be ACGME.
