Top programs in my mind (not in specific order):
Emory, Rothman, Rush, Utah, MGH, HSS, Cleveland

Any thoughts?

Does anyone have any thoughts / general consensus on USC vs. UCSF ?

Also is Brown well known in the spine community ?

There hasn’t been much recent reviews of programs for the last several years it seems

Agree with this to the exclusion of MGH and HSS

I agree with Utah, Emory, Rothman for those interested in degenerative spine. Columbia is still probably best in the country for deformity surgery. MGH and HSS are above average but nothing special.
Rush is a top program for those interested in MIS.
Other really top quality programs are OrthoCarolina, Leatherman. Wash U is slowly making a comeback.
Idk how Cleveland got on here. It hasn’t been relevant since Henry Bohlman was there.

Agree, WashU definitely impressed this year. Cleveland Clinic probably deserves to be up there. It is a solid program with great mentorship. It has been popular for past few years.

Thoughts from others?

Both reasonable lists.  MGH/BWH and HSS are very strong programs and I'd exclude Rush before excluding those two tbh

Cleveland Clinic has been good for a while.  Bohlman was at Case
