Please find addition on the SF Match site: Rothman Institute South Jersey Adult Reconstruction Fellowship

This is a mentorship style fellowship in Adult Reconstruction with a subset of surgeons from the Rothman Institute in the South Jersey location. The fellows will rotate with Dr. Alvin Ong, Dr. Fabio Orozco, Dr. Zachary Post, and Dr. Danielle Ponzio. Strengths of this program include the operative volume, exposure to all approaches to hip arthroplasty (including extensive DAA experience), research opportunities, and the one-on-one mentorship style of teaching.

Hi, I am currently fellow at Rothman South Jersey. I wanted to share my perspective as I decided to join this fellowship on a bit of a leap of faith. I was a resident at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial and interviewed at all of the "big name' fellowships,,, Mayo, HSS, Rush, Duke, Stanford, Denver, Harvard etc. I met the docs at Rothman South Jersey and was convinced this was the best fellowship in the country.

For starters the case volume is ridiculous. Ive done over 100 cases in the first 5 weeks. This is a true mentorship model. I run in AM with attending I am working with and go on all consulting trips, meetings, conferences etc. All of the attendings are AWESOME. This Is by far highest volume DA fellowship in the country and quite possible highest volume overall fellowship in the country (on pace for >1000). Also on pace for >150 revisions and >200 Mako total knees.

There is close to zero service responsibilities. I haven't had to round, write notes, dictate surgeries or take call. However, I do have the option to take attending trauma call for a hefty call stipend. My only responsibilities are to show up and learn how to operate, learn how to build and manage a high volume joints practice and generate some research. Don't worry, there is ample research support staff.

As far as location, I live in beach town in Jersey called Margate. I am from Miami and was expecting a drop in quality of life but I literally live in paradise. Also only 40 min from Philly and less than 2 hrs from Manhattan. Dr Orozco and I are actually going with a driver tonight to NYC to see Colombia vs Argentina at Metlife.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out but I highly recommend this fellowship. I honestly feel this is the best fellowship in the country.
