Loupes - 2.5 vs 3.5 for spine was created by willis
Contemplating buying my first pair of loupes. Our spine attendings don't wear loupes, but I know several spine fellowships have attendings wearing loupes. Just trying to get an idea of whether or not its worth it to buy loupes for fellowship and what magnification spine guys at other institutions are wearing.

My understanding is that the focal length matters more than the magnification. Also, depends on what your long term plans are. If you're planning on doing spine as a career, then perhaps the 3.5 will be of long term use. But if you're just getting them for general use, or just for use during residency, 2.5 would probably work.
