I did only self-assesments last yr. While I certainly think conceptually these questions were closer to "boards" questions than the OITE, there still was some difference. Most notable to me, was the marked difference in the amount of unnecessary verbiage on the actual board exam. Once you "cut the fat", the questions had a similar feel. It was a very difficult, yet, clinically relevant test. As for general idea of percentages. From what I recall, I got just over 80% of questions right studying the OSAE's. Passing, was just over 70% correct last yr. on the boards. I passed, studying these alone, despite some untimely familial obligations. Bottom line, is that the test is hard...but it is doable. Statistically, very much so for American trained residents. Traditionally, I did well on the OITE, as did several others that I know. We each felt a little beat up (okay, a lot) when we were done, but we all passed. I presume, if you give it a fair shake, that the odds are in your favor that you will pass as well. Good luck.
