4th year med student who just matched into ortho and is super excited about starting his training soon. alright im gonna sound neurotic but what the hell:

1) what materials should I get to start studying for OITE? for Step 3? i wanna kick ass on both and not do any last minute cramming. wanna take the step 3 within my first 6 months of intern year, and obviously the OITE whenever they have that.
2) what textbooks do i definitely have to have read and become familiar with by the end of residency?

thanks, im freakin vivid about starting

One bottle of bourbon...

One bottle of rum...

One 2-Liter of Coca-Cola (optional)...

For reading, may I suggest Playboy and Maxim...

Seriously, you have 3 months to kick back. I suggest you do it.

Replied by on topic wondering if anyone had any
wondering if anyone had any non alcoholic suggestions for intern ortho reading for the OITE. im guessing most programs dont care much what you get as an intern, but it would still be nice to have an idea of what to read...

Replied by on topic First Aid for the Boards
Without a doubt doing first aid and at least 2 years per subject will allow you to answer 75-85% OITE. The extraneous questions on the xam are always anyones best gess. But adding the last 3 years of OITE questions will improve your score also. I would emphasize questions, questions, questions. The more the better.
