I am looking into an ABOS Part I Board review course for 2006.

I'm mainly considering the Miller and AAOS review courses.

Any input on these?... I am especially interested in opinions on the AAOS course from the last couple years.

Thanks in advance for any help...

From what I have heard, AAOS review wasn't very helpful from the people I talked to. Miller is good, but if you have the CD's you don't need to go to the class. The only issue is that they stopped selling CD's after the 2005 Miller (I believe) because they were concerned about the pirating issue and started noting their attendance dropping. Still, things don't change that much for part I in two years. May be a bigger issue in years to come.

I went to Maine for almost two weeks and found it very helpful. Nice way to end residency (last week of June / First week of July). The lectures were helpful for the most part, but more importantly, the access you have to the practice material while you are there was invaluable. Usually 6-8 hours of lecture per day over 12 days (as opposed to 12-14 at Miller) which is much easier to swallow, and then you can spend a few hours in the evening doing questions. They have literally THOUSANDS of questions from old SAE exams and specialty exams. You can stay on Colby College campus and eat in the dining hall. Being in Maine, it is a haul for most people to get there, but the lobster was incredible.

Forgot to mention that one advantage of Maine is that you truly can "get away" and focus entirely on study. Something I found difficult with kids at home. Many people with spouses and especially kids at home have found those two weeks away to be a good chance to really focus.
