Does anybody out there who has already taken the written boards have any advice on how to study for it? When did you start studying, how did you organize your studying, what books or other resources did you use, what practice questions, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

The only thing that I did for ABOS Part I was read the latest OKU and read the latest Miller's review during the three weeks before the test. Now, I did my residency in a program that had always done well on the written boards, so I was fairly confident that I woudn't have any problems. However, when I left that day, I swear I was going to fail. It is nothing like the OITE. Some residents go to review courses, but no one ever did out of our program, so I can't tell you whether it is worth it or not.
That's my 2 cents.
