The UT Health San Antonio Orthopaedic Research Fellowship

The UT Health San Antonio Orthopaedic Research Fellowship is a one-year fellowship program for extraordinary medical students. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research with the goal of accomplishing multiple authorships in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in orthopaedic basic science if desired. During this year, the fellows will have the opportunity to observe in the operating room and participate in resident conferences

Eligibility
Applicants should have completed their third year of medical school. We recommend that this fellowship should be completed between the third and fourth year of medical school. The student must be in excellent academic standing and have an interest in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery.

Award and Stipend Benefits
The recipient of this award will receive a $20,000 stipend to cover living expenses for the year. Travel expenses for national meetings will be funded through the department.

-Personal statement
-Curriculum vitae
-Official USMLE Step 1 Score Report
- Completion of the 2 essays:
(1) Please describe your prior research experience. (maximum 400 words)
(2) Please describe your career goals, e.g. where do you see yourself in 10 years and how research will be incorporated into this. (maximum 400 words)
