The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the University of Missouri-Columbia is pleased to announce the opening of Research Specialist position within the department.

Position: Research Specialist
Duration: 1 year
Salary: Yes
When: Beginning Approximately June 1, 2016
Where: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI), University of Missouri

Ideal candidates:
 Pursuing a career in research, and/or
 Medical school graduates or current 4th year medical students possibly seeking future residencies

Duties of the Research Intern:
 Coordinate all aspects of assigned research projects
 Prepare research protocols/applications (IRB, IACUC, HIPAA, etc.)
 Identify, consent, and act as a resource for study participants
 Collect data on research subjects via review of patient charts, imaging, follow-up visits, etc.
 maintenance of databases

 Strong academic record
 Extremely organized
 Detail oriented
 Takes responsibility for positive work atmosphere
 Articulate and communicative
 Intrinsically motivated
 Contributes to the rewarding MOI team culture

practices, database management
