Description:

Dr. Nikhil Verma invites 3rd year medical students to apply for a Clinical Research Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. This is a very unique opportunity to work closely with a highly regarded Orthopaedic Attending in Dr. Nikhil Verma and other sports attendings (Drs. Bach, Bush-Joseph, Cole, Forsythe, Nho, Nicholson, and Romeo) and PhDs at RUSH. Research fellow will no doubt strongly bolster his/her CV.

Role:

Coordinate orthopedic research projects in the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Department.
Coordinate efforts of research group, prepare and manage IRB protocols, draft abstracts, implement research designs, collect and analyze data, identify and recruit patients into clinical studies.
High level of interaction with physicians, scientists, and other study personnel; option of observing orthopedic surgeries
Motivated individuals in the past have published 10-20 articles/book chapters/peer reviewed journal articles

Qualifications:

Requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a large research team
Requires student to be in good academic standing with their Medical School / Residency
Program

Salary/Benefits:

Stipend will be provided for the student that can cover room & board, transportation, etc.
