UNC 10/26 for 12/8 or 12/15

SUMMA today via ERAS e-mail 10/26 for any Monday thru Friday beginning November 12, 2007 through January 23, 2008.
Offered hotel, dinner the night of interview.

I got Pitt 10/16 for the above dates and UNC on 10/23 for the same as mentioned above.

Does anyone have any knowledge one way or the other about whether or not programs send multiple waves of invites, i.e. if I haven't heard anything from Duke, am I screwed there? I can't imagine they're done, but then again, why wait if they already feel they can make a decision...

From what I hear they just try to lock down some applicants right now and wait for the deans letter for the next major wave of invites. Wouldn't worry about it too much yet. I havent heard from Unc or Duke but I have from Mayo and Im in the south!

Quick question I'm starting to get worried I have not received any interview invites or updates from any of my programs. Is it time to start thinking about taking other routes such as increasing my general surgery back-up applications?


I know I'm not the most competitive applicant GPA 3.3 no C's/pass only A/B's Step I 228....applied to 59 programs did 3 aways.

Should I relax or be very worried right now?

Just seems like new people are getting interviews everyday.

tomorrow is the big day for deans letters to be downloaded..

although many are receiving invites, the big wave should occur in the next 2-3 weeks (based on my experience last year).

i know it can be frustrating to note others getting invites (i'm in the same boat), but gotta try to be patient...

In response to the previous post about not hearing back... I've been blessed with some luck in med school (high Step1 and AOA), but I've only heard from 3 of 50+ programs I applied to. Though everyone else applying to other specialties have pretty much scheduled all their interviews, I think its still early....

Hey--I was just checking my original invite from Wake Forest and noticed another applicant's email address at the top--anyone else notice that or was it just me?
