Hi, need some advice. I am northeast med student and thus far have only 2 interviews and a whole bunch of rejections (tufts, stony brook, albert einstein). Should I be getting worried at this point? Each rejection, from these Northeast programs feels like getting kicked in the gut.

Get used to it. There's more to come. Just hope you applied broadly enough.

OHSU rejected me twice. One email at 1:30 and one at 4:30 today. Both rejection emails.

Haha. Me too. An extra kick in the nads since I'm from Oregon.

My personal favorite so far was from Hopkins:

"Thank you for your interest in our residency program here at Johns Hopkins.
We are very happy that you have selected us as a possible residency program
for you. As of today, we have sent out all of our selections to those that we
would like to have interview here in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department of
Johns Hopkins. The applicant pool from ERAS this year has grown to over 600
applicants, and we have increased our interview slots to provide more
applicants the chance to interview. Our residency is only approved for 5
positions to start as a PGY1 in July 2012. Because of our expansion of
interview slots, a backup list is not necessary.

Once again, thank you for your interest in our program. Please accept our
best wishes for success to you during this interview/application period."

Somehow, they managed to craft a rejection letter without rejecting you.
