Post-Interview Communication 2009-10

My gut feeling is that people are realizing that adding that to the process is not entirely helpful, and has led to some bad sentiments amongst the applicants. Personally not having matched and having received those phone calls, don't think that I was the least bit ticked having someone say to me that I was a shoe-in..and then not match.

It could also be that the process is more competitive this year and program directors are getting more uppity about this??

Also, perhaps the whole haiti incident sent a bunch of attendings south, and they haven't had a chance to call yet.

Plus, there's still two weeks for them to decide. I haven't even logged into the nrmp's website yet lol.

Anyone else get a call from Beaumont?

nah, applicants are just keeping their cards close to vest this year. For instance, George Washington openly admitted on interview day that they would be contacting their top guys and yet we still have no word on this forum. People are scared that if they post their supposed private messages that the program will find out and not like them anymore.

In any case, the vast majority of programs settled their lists weeks, if not months, ago. I doubt any program would wait until the final week notify their top guys, so I wouldn't hold my breath for any more post-interview communications.

well, I made the name before interview invitations were sent out. When I was at GW, I wasn't aware that they contacted their top guys. I guess they do and chances are those couple of people don't post on here.
