Replied by on topic Yeah I've searched too and
Yeah I've searched too and most people who interview there don't write any comments about it. I don't have any personal knowledge about these programs but this is what OTHER users have said about it from their interview experiences after the match:

-laid back, solid trauma, didactics so so, not as much OR time, lots of clinic, but the 6 months of research at the NIH is pretty sweet. Chairman is an old fart that won't be there in 5 years and is very set in his ways. he chooses who he wants (columbia, washu, female, NE schooler) and doesn't care about anyone else's opinion.

-nothing really stands out other than the 6 months you get at the NIH, great way to pad a CV and improve fellowship chances

-reasonable program. wasn't too impressed during interview day.

I'm sure its a good program, but no one who has posted anything yet has actually complemented the program. Hopefully current residents can shed a better light on the program.

Replied by on topic I interviewed there this year.
I interviewed there this year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we were told that the 6 months at NIH is not happening anymore since Rocky Tuan went to Pitt. The day didn't really make much of an impression on me one way or the other, except for the fact that the chair was so overt in his lack of respect for the residents- who seemed like a very cool group, by the way- that it was a complete turnoff.

Replied by on topic I think its also interesting
I think its also interesting that out of all the classes, on one resident was a medstudent at GWU. Either they aren't accepting them or the GWU med students know something we don't.

Replied by on topic Just wanted to bump this
Just wanted to bump this thread and see if maybe there are some new users out there or people who didn't catch it the first time around. Some of the really old (~10 years) posts seemed very negative and there hasn't been much info about it since then. I'd appreciate any input from GWU students, rotators or current/past residents. Thank you
