What did LIJ say when they called? Was it just for the top 3 or anyone who will be "high" on the list?

applicant was told that he/she was high on the ranklist and that hopefully this would provide some peace of mind

I've gotten a few panicked PM's, so I just wanted to clarify. I do not know exactly what the phone call situation was this year, but I do know that LIJ does not always make phone calls. Most years, they do not make them at all. In those years in which calls were made, they were not made to all people who were even ranked to match. I do not know this year's rank list, nor do I know who was called, how many were called, and where those people who were called fell on the list.

I can say this with certainty: 1) the rank list was finalized before any calls could be made, so there is no required agreement or response on the part of any applicant. 2) to my knowledge, only one of the current residents in our program had received a phone call, despite many being ranked to match.
