No interviews was created by bonehead88
So 18 out of 47 places I applied to have sent out interviews, and I have yet to receive one. I've received 7 rejections. Should I start panicing yet?
I'm 240+ Step 1, mostly Honors and High Passes my first three years of med school. The only red flag I can think of is a high pass in surgery during my third year.

Is it possible that some part of my application didn't get transmitted? Would it be considered inappropriate to contact a program that already sent out interviews to find out if there was something missing from my application? Or would it be better to do that at a place that hasn't sent out interviews yet? Is anyone else in the same boat? I still have a bunch of programs left but I'm already starting to plan for not matching this year.

I'd say it depends on where you applied. Did you apply broadly? (ie, really competitive vs. average)

Also, when did you submit your application? (ie, Sept 2nd vs. Oct 1st) Did you make sure your application was complete? (eg, some places require additional evaluation forms from LOR writers and some places require a LOR from a non-orthopaedic surgeon)

I still think its fairly early in the game and I don't think you should start thinking about not matching. Programs will usually send out invites more than once. I've received a couple invites after someone received them on this forum so just keep your head up.

In my opinion, if I didn't hear from any programs by the next of this week I'd start sending some emails to inquire about my status.

Well I hope it works out and good luck!

Sorry about your situation, this process is so random no one knows what to expect. It is still early, but with stats like yours, you should have atleast a few interviews by now. I would go talk to your student affairs office or whoever takes care of your ERAS stuff. Ask them to read your LOR and look over your app to make sure nothing is wrong.

Good Luck

Although it is rare, one school to which I applied had trouble downloading my application materials and, essentially, was unaware that I had submitted my application (this despite the ERAS site listing all of the dates that sections of the application were downloaded from my box). This is a computer glitch on the school's part, and was only picked up because I was doing an away rotation at that institution. I was told all of these errors had been rectified, but you never know. I contacted most of my remaining schools and everything was kosher.

I would agree with the earlier post re: contacting schools this week if you have not heard anything. If you have 240+, above average grades, applied to safety schools, and have a completed application, I would say it's a little surprising if you don't have an offer yet.
