Ranking of programs is very individualized. What you want and what you are interested in is much different from the next guy. Academic reputation is one thing, but experiences from one place to another is impossible for another person to rank for you. Most people would agree that their rank lists were very different from what they originally anticipated. Location, Type of hospital, the general "feel" of the program is personalized to your tastes.

Also, very few people know an awful lot about the smaller community programs in both the northeast and midwest. Not that Summa, Akron General, Beaumont, and Lenox Hill aren't all very strong programs, but Lenox Hill, geographically, generally draws a different applicant base. Similarly, someone that is looking to live in the upper east side of Manhattan is often not the type to be excited by the suburbs outside of Detroit, and vice versa.

Just be careful when asking someone else how they would rank places -- you need to figure out what you want yourself.

All I wanted was to get some insight on some strengths and weaknesses from those who may have rotated or interviewed . I do know what I want in a program, I just thought I would try to be resourceful and get some other opinions. Thanks to all.
