Replied by on topic I know some people on
I know some people on this forum get annoyed when spouses join the discussions, but usually the spouses have more time on their hands than busy ortho residents. That said I have insight on your question, so I thought I would respond. You can just weigh in the fact that I am a spouse of a resident and not an actual resident.

First, I looked up on the web about the University of Toledo Ortho program, and everything I read is accurate. The hospital has a strong orthopaedics program and they have been very successful on the OITE. For about 3 months previous to the test, the director spends time in the morning reviewing for the test with the residents.

As far as the area of Toledo, in some ways it is better suited for families/ married couples than singles. It isn’t like a big city like LA or New York where there is lots of night life. However, downtown Toledo is a short drive from the hospital where there are bars and clubs. Detroit is also only an hour away. For families or married couples, Toledo is great because the housing market is affordable and it is feasible to buy a home in residency. Also the school districts in the neighboring cities to Toledo are ranked high (this being compared to all the school districts in Ohio). As far as the residents go, for each year there are 3 residents, and about 1 is single, 1 is married, and 1 is married with children.

Hope that helps.
