Medical Student Outcomes Study in Orthopaedics was created by doctor scarlat
My name is Andrew Schoenfeld and I am a fourth year orthopaedic resident at Akron General Medical Center/Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Akron, Ohio. Our department is conducting a medical student education outcomes study regarding current medical student experience in orthopaedic education across the country. We would like to invite all third year and fourth year medical students from any program who have completed an orthopaedic surgery rotation of any duration to participate. The survey is composed of about 20 questions and takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
Thes results of this survey have an important impact regarding the improvement of orthopaedic education for medical students and can significantly help those students who come into orthopaedics in the future. I thank you in advance for your time and interest in this survey and ask you to e-mail me at ajschoen24@yahoo.com if you are interested. I will then send the short survey to you as an e-mail attachment. I appreciate your help and encourage all to participate.

Replied by doctor scarlat on topic I have received some e-mails
I have received some e-mails asking if the curvey is still open or if we are still interested in surveying students. We are looking to survey as many M3s and 4s as possible, so if you are interested please contact me. We are not going to exclude any medical students from participating in this survey. I appreciate all of your help.

This topic really appears to have resonated with the medical student community. I continue to get queries regarding whether the study is still open and whether I am still interested in surveying students. The study is still open and will remain so for some time. If you are interested please e-mail me at ajschoen24@yahoo.com. Your input is extremely important and no student will be turned away. I appreciate the great enthusiasm for this as it is of vital importance to the continuance of quality orthopaedic education in these times. Your participation is greatly appreciated!

Replied by doctor scarlat on topic As the interview season is
As the interview season is coming to an end, we will now be evaluating the outcomes of this project for the 2006-7 year. The opportunity to participate will remain open for about another week. If you are a fourth year medical student who is interested in ortho and has been thinking about participating please contact me at ajschoen24@yahoo.com so that I can get the survey materials to you. The survey should take less than 5 minutes and we hope to get as many medical students as possible to participate. I hope to hear from more of you soon.

Thank You,

Andrew Schoenfeld, MD
