Clinical grades was created by ceramic
Dear Dr. Levine,

How critical are clinical grades? I have high passed medicine, family medicine and surgery but no honors yet and I am getting worried. I have a 255 Step 1 coming from a State School, no publications but some research. How are my chances of matching in NYC (my preferred location)?
Thank you.

"Ceramic",
As has been highlighted on this forum in the past there isn't a simple formula for any of this. If you have a low USLME score and no research or publications then clearly 3rd year grades that are below honors or high pass could be much more detrimental. With your high step 1 score that will make it past most ERAS "screens".

Then, all the other criteria enter into play - 3rd year grades, letters of recommendation, research, publications, subinternships, etc...

Good luck --
