Looking for a PGY1 Ortho Position or a PGY2 spot for next year

Hello!

I am in my preliminary intern year at a Top 10 General Surgery program and will be re-applying to Orthopedics. I am interested in swapping into a PGY-1 spot if there are any openings or applying for a PGY-2 opening for next year.

I can provide my resume and personal statement. I passed Step 1, had a non-traditional medical school journey with plenty of experience, and did a research fellowship in orthopedics with 10+ pubs. The only negative was that I had an average Step 2 score but I have reasons for the performance and can back it up with a unique and strong history of high academic performance. I can also provide contacts for some orthopedic surgeons I worked with who could vouch for me.
