I am currently a PGY-1 preliminary surgery resident at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville who is applying for a categorical orthopaedics residency position. I have a strong application, including finishing in the top-third of my class at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, conducting clinical orthopaedics research in ACL reconstruction, and playing four years of varsity football at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have also completed 6 months of orthopaedic clinical rotations to date, and have received a grade of honors in all of them. I would be very interested in a PGY-2 spot beginning in July.
