I am also one of the residents here at Maimonides. We are sorry to see one of our residents leave, but he decided that his interests lay in another specialty and that he also needed to be closer to home for family reasons.

Our program has improved significantly in the last 5 years and we just received a 4 year accreditation cycle. This has been achieved by the development of a strong biannual curriculum with dedicated didactic lectures, research time, and opportunities to attend courses and participate in research. The case variety and volume has changed with the recruitment of new attendings and increased autonomy in the OR.

Our major strength is the group of residents that we have, and because we
are a small program, this is extremely important. We work very well together not only in getting the day to day stuff done, but also in being
better orthopaedic surgeons. Our group is roughly half single and half married with kids, which works out if you want to go out at night into the
city or have someone for your kids to play with.

I believe that we have a great program and welcome anyone who is
interested in applying. If you have any questions please PM me.
