Resigned in good standing from my military ortho residency in 2005 after my PGY4 year. Hoped to transfer to a civilian program but instead was mobilized to Iraq for two years and Germany for two years. Army needed general physicians and wouldn't allow soldiers to enter non-funded civilian residencies. Will complete my obligated service in December 2009, because of the time lapse in training I'm willing to start at the PGY2 or PGY3 level. Strong CV and multiple awards including Bronze Star.

Still searching. Send me a PM if you have recommendations or leads. Am also interested in research positions or surgical assist/clinical assist positions prior to residency start.

Still trying to find that elusive advanced orthopaedic residency position. Plenty of interest by programs directors and a fair number of interviews. Most want to know why I would resign with only one year of training left (to be done with the Army), and if I come with any funding (partial VA funding). I'm at the AAOS meeting in New Orleans this week presenting research, leave a message here, and I'll find you there for an impromptu interview (or if you're a resident, just to say hello).

Received a couple last minute interviews, but no takers yet. I've lined up a position at a west coast university working as an orthopaedic Research Associate, and also have locum tenens work. Able to relocate immediately, and fill any unexpected residency opening at a moment's notice. Application materials, references, credentialing documentation, and ABOS review complete and ready to go.

Received Honorable Discharge March 2010, spent the summer completing research in ortho trauma at a university on the West Coast. Last month, the Army rehired me as a civilian contractor to treat soldiers returning from and departing to Iraq and Afghanistan. The assignment is ongoing, but I remain available for residency training with advanced notice. If you know of a PGY2 or PGY3 position available, please drop me a line. Thanks.
