I am the Orthopedic Residency Program Director at Grand Rapids Michigan. We are approved for 4 residents a year though we have added a fifth resident to three levels due to transfers. We have asked the RRC to officially increase our complement to 5 residents a year. Unfortunately, the RRC meets in the beginning of June and we will not know officially until that time. If a spot is approved, we are interested in finding a resident for this July. Obviously, there is not much time and this could present issues with a resident's current program. But, if all the cards lined up, we would like to fill this slot with a qualified candidate. If you have done a year of General Surgery and fill most of the requirements for rotations for an Orthopedic residency, we would like to hear for you.
Thanks
