The harvesting of Semitendinosus and Gracilis is still met with certain anxiety by many surgeons, as it is essentially a closed, blind procedure involving the introduction of a tendon stripper through a small distal skin incision.
Amongst the ‘hidden dangers’ are the accessory bands that may arise from the Semitendinosus and Gracilis tendons and insert separately from the Pes Anserinus.
