some of the best trauma people ive seen, will do anything, pelvis, etc
Didactics / Teaching
didactics only one day a week for a couple hours, though fracture conference is really good, lots of interesting cases and attendings get really into it, exchanging a variety of ideas for each case.
Operating Experience
not much for second years, but lots after that. mostly trauma, unless you are on another rotation. lots and lots of fascinating trauma as is level one for ft lauderdale
Clinic Experience
have in house clinic for uninsured, went there a few hours a day a couple days a week, did not see the outpatient clinics
Research Opportunities
lots, attendings are very enthusiastic about getting residents into research
Residents
all very friendly and all seemed happy and had fun despite the long hours
Lifestyle
not so great, lots of trauma so long hours, though do abide well by the rule requiring residents to go home the day after call
Location / Housing
great, near beach, ft laud is fun area if you like FL
Limitations
not a whole lot of cases outside trauma and didactics are limited, both which i personally think are great about the program. lifestyle not great
Overall Rotation Experience / Conclusion
excellent, loved it, would highly recommend if you like trauma
