According to the report, the global medical aesthetic devices market was valued at approximately USD 6.50 billion in 2015 and is expected to reach approximately USD 11.20 billion by 2021, growing at a CAGR of around 9.5% between 2015 and 2021.

Cosmetic Implant Market size is predicted to grow at around 6.5% CAGR during the forecast period between 2016 and 2023 and is expected to be valued at USD 10.5 billion in 2023.

A B.C. judge has approved a class action lawsuit settlement for hundreds of people with allegedly defective hip implants.

“We’re very pleased that the settlement has now been approved by the courts in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia,” said Vancouver lawyer David Klein.

“This is a national settlement but it required the approval from all three courts. The claims process can now open and within the next few months people who filed claims will start receiving compensation.”

About 1,100 people opted into the class action lawsuit in Ontario and Quebec. Klein said he expects several hundred more claimants will come forward in B.C.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – For decades, Silicon Valley health technology investor and operating executive Allan Will has successfully bet on some of the most innovative medical therapeutic devices created to improve, extend and save lives.

He’s been a serial CEO, founded the valley’s most prolific medical device incubator, is an executive chairman and inventor – including more than 30 patents ranging from catheters and stents to tools for harvesting blood vessels for heart surgery.

1. Exactech launched three revision implant systems in the last year.

2. To develop the technologies, the company partnered with orthopedic surgeons. Bernard Stulberg, MD, performed the first revision knee procedure.

Dr. Stulberg said, "This system has great potential to improve predictability and reproducibility in revision total knee procedures."

3. The system received 510(k) clearance in the United States and approval in the European Union.
