Research will primarily focus on outcome collection for shoulder and elbow surgery patients with the opportunity to explore other orthopaedic surgery specialties. Research fellows will work under the direction of Dr. Stephanie Muh and/or Dr. Jared Mahylis.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining an extensive surgical database
• Lead a research team of medical students
• Oversee all ongoing projects (project design, dataabstraction, moving projects forward)
• Collaborate with other research fellows and lead research group meetings
• Work closely alongside the PI and handle academic/research administrative responsibilities
• Organize and distribute surveys and questionnaires for pre- and post-operative patients
• Monitor IRB approval periods and submit IRB protocols, amendments, and reports
• Write, submit, and publish manuscripts in qualityorthopaedic journals (JBJS, JSES, Arthroscopy)
• Manage abstract submission, conference registration, and grant submission deadlines
• Present posters and podiums at regional, national and even international conferences
Qualifications:
Required: Good academic standing and interest in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery
Preferred: 3rd year US medical students with prior experience in IRB writing, scientific writing, literature review, and/or statistical analysis
