Responsibilities will include quantitative investigations of in-silico and in-vivo hip and knee biomechanics of patients with total joint replacements. The selected candidate will process CT and MRI images of patients to construct 3D anatomic models of the hip and knee joints and examine the optimal surgical implantation of joint replacements. The candidate is also expected to lead clinical projects to assess the risk of adverse events after total joint arthroplasty through statistical and machine learning modeling. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in multiple novel projects, including predictive machine learning, among other clinical outcome research, enabling a wide range of research experience. The candidate will also have the opportunity to present our work at national and international conferences.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in bioengineering or biomedical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline and graduate research experience with musculoskeletal joint biomechanics. The applicant should also have prior experience in conducting human joint kinematics and kinetics evaluation using imaging and motion analysis techniques. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python programming, and 3D modeling is required, and prior experience with machine learning is highly desirable. Previous experience conducting clinical outcomes research in orthopedic surgery is preferred but not mandatory.

Interested applicants should submit a CV/resume and contact information for three references (full name, email, and phone) by June 12, 2023. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the application deadline of 11:59 PM on 12th June 2023.
