Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop research ideas, review literature, and design studies.
- Work with hospital researchers and IRB staff to receive IRB approval.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data (databases: EMR, MarketScan, Patient IQ, etc.).
- Write and create manuscripts, posters, and presentations.
- Facilitate manuscript submissions.
- Present abstracts, posters, presentations; representing NEBH at local/regional/national conferences.
- Participate in regular research meetings with attendings and fellows.
- Supervise and coordinate undergraduate-level research volunteers.
- Maintain research relationships with partnering institutions and attendings.
- Other duties assigned by the OCA chair.
Qualifications:
- Motivated medical school graduate seeking a career in orthopaedic surgery.
- Previous research experience required.
- Self-starter as well as a team player.
- Strong work ethics and communication skills
- Experience with SAS software preferred
- Experience with large database study preferred.
