Best book for beginners? was created by cousteau
Hello there, It would be nice to have an advice from you all, what you consider to l be the best book(s) for me as beginner in orthopaedic residency?

Im planning to start with Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics 11th Ed,But I'm not sure about it since its more than 5000 pages, Im not in US, and in my home country everything is little bit messed up, Im looking for something like this:

1.Best book for pre-op (Symptoms,Diagnosis,Classification)
2.Best book for Trauma surgery
3.Best book for standard ortho surgeries
4.Best book for pocket use

any ideas?

I'm an intern that takes ortho call for most of the year (adult and peds trauma only), and I found that handbook of fractures and Stannard's trauma book are awesome resources. And don't forget Wheeless...

save your money on campbells. Buy www.otosonline.com/ instead. Also available on the synthes resident program. The other set to get would be either skeletal trauma or the 3 volume rockwood fx solutions.

Replied by on topic With Handbook of Fractures and
With Handbook of Fractures and Surgical Exposures in Orthopaedics, do we need the newest editions for Sub-Is? Wouldn't mind saving some money since alot of residency programs give you "book expenses" to buy the new editions of books.
