Carolinas vs MCW. I can't go to both. Can someone make an argument for either program to help me out? I think I rather live in NC if that's what it comes down to.

Unrelated: I'll concede the UW works its residents harder than most other programs that I am aware of and another downside would be the number of fellows present. No program's perfect.

Canes...I'm assuming you're in Miami. How's that program? I'll be down there next month.

fyi - ccf will be interviewing on the 15th and 16th of january, but i've been told that they're notoriously late in sending out interview offers.

got NYU/HJD today for Jan 24th, 30th, or Feb 12th via mass e-mail. I guess the NY places are finally starting to come in...it says they're interviewing 72 candidates for 12 spots. There's a social event the night before...

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you state "Salt Lake City sucks" in ignorance. I grew up in SLC but have been away in various localities for a while. While the night life may not be that of Miami Beach or even close, there's so much more such as access to the best snow on earth and every outdoor activity imagineable and plenty of culture (world class symphony, opera, ballet, etc). Somehow hundreds of thousands managed to enjoy themselves during the olympics and they even found enough etoh I hear. And as far as ortho goes, the program can be as selective as they want...and from talking to some of the residents, it's not just because the program is solid!

"Interview days are an all day event on either Saturday, January 11 or Friday, January 17, 2003. Following the interview is an informal Evening Resident Social, which is optional. Additionally, there will be casual welcome receptions scheduled the evening prior to the interview day, from 6:00-7:30 pm on Friday, January 10th at the Alumni House and on Thursday, January 16th at the Millberry Union Conference Center. Social events are optional.
