Does anybody know the status of the various schools in New Orleans and Mobile regarding whether or not they are planning on taking applications for their Ortho residency programs? I sent Emails to Tulane, LSU, Ochsner, and South Alabama, all of which were either bounced back to me or non-responsive. Does anybody have a definitive answer? Thank you.

As one of the chief residents at LSU I can speak for our program.
LSU New Orleans is accepting applications for the match this year. We are currently setting up office space in Lafayette, Louisiana to serve as our academic office. This will remain until we move back into New Orleans. I recommend that anyone interested in applying to LSU New Orleans should do so. Our residents are working at full steam in Baton Rouge and will be up and running in Lafayette on Monday.

The faculty and residents are committed to the survival of LSU Orthopaedics and our return into the city. Any questions may be directed to our residency director Dr. Robb Sellards - email: RSellards24@yahoo.com

We look forward to hearing from you.

THe Tulane Residents will be rotating at UAB/Campbell Clinic/Mississippi/Arkansas until New Orleans is ready again (probably by July 1 2006). In a way, this is kind of a unique experience...all top notch programs in the Southeast. All of the New Orleans programs (LSU/Tulane/Oschner) aren't going away and should have brand new resources (new Charity) by the time it matters for current med students. Tulane residents can direct questions to Linda Miller, our coordinator, at tulaneorthomom@hotmail.com about upcoming match.
