I know, from speaking with two attendings on the residency committee, that Mayo rarely goes past 20 in their ranklist, for their 10 spots. I would assume that they would make phone calls to their top 15 or 20 and perhaps letters to the next tier. I am making this assumption based on one fact, so take this with a grain of salt.
